What factors are used to calculate
a travel insurance premium?
What you pay for travel insurance (the premium) will depend
mainly on: • Where you are going, known
as your geographical risk
Usually there are different premiums for the UK, Europe, Rest
of the World excluding USA, and Worldwide.
The more countries are covered, the more you will pay in premium.
• How long your trip lasts
The longer you are away, the higher the premium as risk increases
over time
• Whether you want additional covers – Including
winter sports, skiing or other ‘dangerous’ sports
or hazardous activities usually costs extra.
• Your Age -you must be within certain exclusion ages
• The number of people in your party
